A choice of location that is not insignificant, since to give an impression of oasis to the aquarium, the group will sacrifice some 20,000 palm trees. Marrakesh could not resist the temptation of April 1st ... the project Marrakesh Aquarium & Underwater Zoo was an April Fool! After integrating the Guinness Book of Records into the world's largest aquarium at Dubai Mall, Emaar Entertainment has set its sights on another Arab to make its last crazy bet. It is our Pearl of the South who was the lucky elected to host the Marrakesh Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, a water park with more than 35 attractions dedicated to the marine world. The sea comes to the Palmeraie The Marrakesh Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is a journey to the heart of the marine world. Highlight of the project, the observation tunnel 70 meters to walk under the basins and to meet the different species of sharks passing over you and in the middle of rays and colorful fish such as the fish surgeons, butterflies, triggerfish and damselflies. This confusing visit is made to the sound of the waves of the sea, restored inside thanks to a system of sound system. For adrenaline buffs, the park offers a sensational experience with cage diving, literally and literally immersed in bull sharks, hammers, nannies and tropical fish. Large thematic basins also make you travel to the four corners of the world by reproducing marine fauna and flora of several emblematic regions of the planet, in particular the Pacific Ocean, the Red Sea, or the Mediterranean. The Marrakech Aquarium & Underwater Zoo will also house a food court, souvenir shops, a virtual reality movie theater and rides. At what price ? By electing the palm grove for home, this grandiose project comes in some way, challenge the laws of nature since its construction will require the uprooting of some 20 000 palm trees currently occupying the land. If this approach does not fit in the spirit COP22, which Marrakech was the host city, Emirati society defends itself by suggesting a possible replantation. The question of ecology is also questioned as to the amount of water needed to ensure the welfare of the animals. In fact, almost 6 million liters of water will be used by all the pools of the park, a large volume obtained from a mixture of soluble granules produced in the plant and fresh water to create a salt water , close to that of the sea. A few weeks before the start of the project, the amusement park Marrakech Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is already controversial with environmentalists and ardent defenders of the natural heritage of the ocher city.
